About Volunteering at Tulare Public Library

Volunteers help Tulare Public Library expand its services and mission to help our community grow and thrive.  We are excited to restart the volunteer program and work together. So whether you want to donate 1 hour a week or just help with a big special event, we have a place for you.

Areas to volunteer:

  • Organizing books - Book lovers rejoice!  Come spend a couple hours a week organizing and maintaining our book collection.
  • Process donations - Every week we receive donations from our generous community.  We need help sorting the donations to see whether they will go in the collection or to the Friends of the Library Book Sale.
  • Technology Help -  Do you love teaching people how to use technology?  The library is one of the only places people in the community can learn how to use technology for free.  We need volunteers who are excited to help our community bridge the digital divide.  You can help make a difference in a person's life.
  • Genealogy - Join the dedicated volunteers in the Local History Room researching genealogy and local history. The library partners with the Sequoia Genealogical Society to provide quality research services to the community. For more information click here.
  • Special Programs - Help our staff with special assignments and programs during the year.  Some fun events include the Halloween Spooktacular and Summer Reading Program.
  • Veteran's Resource Center (VRC) - We need good people to help our veterans find the resources and information they need to succeed in civilian life.  For more information click here
  • Join the Friends of the Library - The Friends hold a monthly book sale at the library.  They need help with set up and running the sale.
  • More opportunities coming - As we identify new areas where volunteers can help the library, we will continue to update this list.  Do you have a great idea?  Contact us and let's talk.
