Mission Statement

Girl holding an arrow on a target

To prevent juvenile crime and violence by building the bond between cops and kids.

What is the PAL Program

The PAL Program is based on the conviction that young people, if they are reached early enough, can develop strong positive attitudes towards police officers in their journey through life toward the goal of maturity and good citizenship. The PAL program brings youth under the supervision and positive influence of a law enforcement agency and expands public awareness about the role of a police officer and the reinforcement of the responsible values and attitudes instilled in young people by their parents.

Girl holding arrow on a targetStudies have shown that if a young person respects a police officer on the ball field, gym or classroom, the youth will likely come to respect the laws that police officers enforce.  Such respect is beneficial to the youth, the police officer, the neighborhood and the business community.

The PAL Program offers programs in sports and activities at all levels. These programs are designed to build character, prevent juvenile delinquency, develop self-esteem, and serve as a crime prevention effort.

The PAL Program provides kids with a safe haven away from negative influences within the community.

The Tulare Police Department PAL Program activities include Fishing Derbies and Archery. See below for locations, dates and times.

**Fishing Derbies are scheduled different times of the year and will be announced before the event date.
